Clay and concrete tile is the roof a lot of South Dade still wants to see from the street. Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, Cutler Bay, and much of Kendall are full of it. The tile is often not the part that fails first. The underlayment underneath dries out, cracks, or was never detailed well at a wall. RTI Roofing repairs tile roofs and replaces the system when the underlayment is done.
For homes
On a house, a tile visit starts with what we can see from the ground and, when it is safe, what we find when tiles come up. Broken tiles in one area can be a repair. Spongy deck, tired underlayment, or leaks that move around are a replacement conversation. We also roof small commercial buildings that use tile. We do not promise we can match a discontinued tile from a photograph.
What the visit covers
- Clay and concrete tile
- The underlayment, which is often the real project
- Hips, ridges, and valleys
- Broken-tile repair when the rest of the system still has life
- A straight answer when the tile should not go back down
What you leave with
Trees in Pinecrest and along Old Cutler drop debris into valleys and scrape the tile. That is a maintenance problem and sometimes a broken-tile problem. It is not automatically a new roof. We separate those. Miami-Dade has its own rules for how tile roofs are installed in this wind zone. We follow the rule that applies to the material on your house. This page is not that ruling.

RTI Roofing did a phenomenal job in our house. We had severe overheating in one of our rooms in the house. They correctly diagnosed that the roof had lack of ventilation and the heat built up in the attic had no escape path, keeping some rooms 4-6 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. They installed vents, and sealed it perfectly. They also saw that I had a cracked tile and replaced it. The rooms are much more livable now. We are thankful for their professional work and would strongly recommend them as your next roof contractor.
Questions about tile roofing
The tile looks even. Can I still have a bad roof?
Yes. Tile hides the underlayment. A roof can look orderly from the driveway and still be leaking into the deck.
Do you do tile in Palmetto Bay and Pinecrest?
Yes. Those villages are part of the Miami-Dade work. The office itself is at 12240 SW 128th Ct, Suite 104.
What does a tile replacement cost?
We do not publish a price. The inspection is free. Call (305) 235-4968.
